Not a whole lot happened today. We were on the road by 10 am stopping in Calais for groceries at the local Wal Mart and Hannaford’s before crossing the border into Canada.
Once at the border it was an easy transition from the USA to Canada. The border guard asked for our Passports, where we were from, where were we going and for how long. Done, and into Canada for our experience.
We did e-mail the guy who turned around because he thought it was going to be too restrictive to cross the border and let him know we had no issues. Hopefully he rethought it and decided to go ahead and visit his friend in Canada.
Our first stop , the Rockwood Park CG was difficult to find. Ron did a lot of research to get to the CG. There was no real direct route off of P 1. After some hairy moments and no signage we finally arrived. Everything here is expensive so we paid $35.00 a night to park in a gravel parking lot. Oh yeah, we did have full utilities in the parking lot with water pressure so low you could die of thirst waiting for a glass of water to fill. We were able to get one TV channel – so you either watched or you didn’t.
We did get to see a fully functioning telephone booth though !!! Have not seen one of those in years.
We didn’t do much and hung around all day like slugs. I guess that is a benefit to being retired and in no hurry. LOL
Tomorrow we will take in the Reversing Rapid AKA the Reversing Falls. We just have to make sure that we hit the tides at the right time.
