Another slow day for us. Although we both slept well last night I woke again this morning to hip, leg and neck pain. Can’t seem to shake the pain no matter what I do. We were debating if we should move on or not, but finally decided to keep going.
We were on the road by 11 AM for the 90 mile drive to our next destination. Again as the day progressed I felt much better.
Although not a long ride it was slow going because the roads were not that good, lots of small congested towns to get through and the speed limit between 35 and 45 MPH most of the way.
We arrived at Mount Desert Island CG around 1:30 PM. We had stayed here before several years ago with our friends Donna and Wayne. It hasn’t changed much except now it is called a Resort!!! Loosely named, I might add. No resort like features here that we could see but lots of different rates. We paid three different rates for each night booked because of the change from low to high season and we were able to use our Passport America card for a 50% discount on Sunday night.
After lunch we took a much needed nap. After our nap we took Jewel for a walk. The CG is virtually empty, just how we like it. It is still shoulder season so the crowds have yet to arrive.
We went to dinner at the log cabin, a place we had eaten at in the past. As usually the food was very good although a little pricey.
We then drove into Bar Harbor to walk around the town. When we arrived we noticed an ambulance, police and a fire truck on the main road. Apparently a car had jumped the curb and struck a woman breaking her leg. They were loading her into the ambulance when we arrived. That certainly ruined her day.
We walked along the shore path enjoying the views and the beautiful mansions along the way.

After walking around the town and enjoying the ambience we headed back to the MH by 10PM. Another nice, leisurely day for us.
