Day 1–Raynham to Thomaston, Maine–Saltwater Farm CG

on Thursday, June 13, 2013

We were finally able to get on the road after several days of my experiencing sciatica pain s/p picking up a towel after washing the MH.  Still not 100% but good enough to travel.

The plan is to stop to see our friends Ginny and Dick in Warren, Maine for a couple of days. Then will head to Acadia National Park, weather permitting.

We finally got out of Raynham around 12:20 pm. The weather was great but deteriorated quite quickly the farther North we got.

‘We had our first experience with Easy Pass with the MH towing. It worked out well and Ron was pleased that we will now be getting a break on the cost of tolls when traveling in the MH. Ron has some doubts that it work OK but it did. He is such a doubting Thomas!

r0n NOTE: we actually used the high speed lane and there was no indication or light nothing,,, that the Pass Worked?

By the time we got to the CG that MH wash was for not! The CG sits on an old farm overlooking a salt water lake with a beautiful view. However, because of the torrential rains it was a mud hole. So bad, that Ron had the MH dug deep into the mud. If it was not for his skillful driving  we would have had to get a tow truck to drag  the MH out of the mud.

Once settled in Ron took Jewel for a walk but no luck. Everything was soaked and  you would sink into the mud getting your feet soaked. Jewel didn’t enjoy the walk any more then Ron did. LOL

The CG is only four  miles from our friends, so we met them at their home and went to dinner at the       .  The food and company was great.

We caught up on what was happening in our families and then got on to “Old People” speak. That is when the  conversation ends up on  medical issues  that each experienced or is experiencing. How did that happen???? And  -  When did we get this old???  LOL

Back at the CG we settled in for the night. The weather is suppose to be  beautiful tomorrow and we will meet up with Ginny and Dick later in the day.
