The morning started out great with blue skies and a bright sky. Good we thought, finally some nice weather. We were on the road by 9:30 AM (early for us). Initially we planned to take the Marine Route (Coastal) to the Way Side CG but after looking at the map and the winding roads we opted for the more direct route on the highway. Ron decided a 5 hour drive was better then a 9 hour drive and he didn’t really feel like driving today so made a good choice.
It didn’t take long for the bright sky to disappear. Soon it was overcast and raining again!!! By the time we arrived at the CG it was an all out rain storm.
The woman at the counter told us it had been raining for three weeks with only two days of clear skies during that time. She was also telling us that two days ago two MH’s had sunk into the mud up to their axles at the CG up the road.
By the time we got set up it was pouring again.
We had a late lunch and I was able to get the laundry started. It’s nice to have a sewer hook-up so I can run the washer.
Around 5 PM Ron stated he was bored so we took a drive in the rain to Peggy’s Cove, 6 miles from the CG. YUP, it was really pouring but we kept on moving.
Since there wasn’t much else to do in the rain we decided to stop for dinner at The Sou’ Wester.. The food was pretty good and the views were great overlooking the ocean.
After dinner we went back to the MH for the night. We’re still hoping for a rain free day!
