Our neighbors Renetta and Irwin left early this morning for there journey to Digby. We said our good-byes last evening and just might catch up with them in a couple of days.
We took the Marine route to the Ovens. It was scenic in some areas but rough riding in other areas. It was a 62 mile drive and once we arrived we were happy to see the views from the CG but not so happy to find out the only 30 amp services were those sites on the ocean at $69.00 a night.
Since it is so hot and humid we had no choice so we settled in site 309. Ron had done the research and nowhere did it mention that there were only a few sites with 30 amp services. Oh well, live and learn.
We also found out, on arrival, there was no WiFi services. OOOphs! Ron missed that one. I think we can live for two days without WiFi. Our site with the ocean views will have to make up for the lack of WiFi. LOL
Around 3 PM we decided to take the Sea Cave Trail, to the “Ovens.” So called because the caves look like ovens.
The trail is rugged with lots of stairs. You are allowed to go into a couple of the caves “At Your Own Risk.”
As we continued our hike it got hotter and hotter. The humidity was enough to kill but the views were worth the hike. We’ve decided that we like the rain and cold better!!!!
Even though we know the Earth is more water then land it is still amazing looking out onto the vastness of the ocean.
Canada has been so good to us. Everywhere we went they provided us with a stair –stepper.
It took 45 minutes to do the round trip – not too bad considering the return trip was all uphill. We cooled off in the MH, had dinner then took a walk around the property. It is really pretty here along the coast and Jewel has been enjoying her three walks a day.
Along the Shore
Ron likes to walk out as far as he can on the rocks. Jewel would not follow him past the water.
Unusual Rocks
We stopped to enjoy the views then walked the interior of the CG where we encountered this kid on a bicycle that almost ran into us at least three different times. He was talking to himself and riding like a maniac. We were hugging the grass on the side of the road so not sure what he was thinking. We were just glad he didn’t hit either of us or Jewel.
Back at the MH we settled in for the night but not before Ron got a great shot of a sail boat passing by.
Tomorrow we will take a ride into Lunenberg and take a look around. Again, we were told it is a must see place.
