We had a quiet night and were up early making our way to New Hampshire via secondary roads and seeing more of Americana.
We arrived at the Lisbon, NH KOA and settled in. We were planning on getting out to look around the area but opted to spend the day relaxing and planning for Thursday.
The weather has been hot and stifling just like the rest of the country. The KOA sits on the banks of the Ammonoosuc River so there was a slight breeze.
Later that evening we had a brutal thunder and lighting storm that would not quit. The wind was whipping and the rain was coming down sideways. Jewel was a wreck and was shaking like a leaf. We could not calm her down and were really worried about her. After about four hours the storm finally stopped.
We went to bed around 10 PM and were blasted awake by another rumble of thunder. The storm went on for an hour before finally stopping. Again, Jewel was a wreck and ended up sleeping with us. I had a difficult time getting back to sleep but Ron and Jewel dozed off as soon as the storm ended.
