As predicted the rains came again!!!! We woke to the sound of rain on the roof and it came in downpours. We left Digby around 10:30 AM and the rain never stopped for the first 5 hours we were on the road.
When we got to the Prince Edward Island exit we decided to keep on rolling. The skies were black and the rain unrelenting. We were on the Trans Canadian Highway for hundreds of miles with no rest areas or even a wide spot to pull off on , so Ron kept on driving.
By 6 PM we were ready to call it a day so I found a CG off the highway and we pulled in hoping for a spot. We did get set up at the Coy Lake CG in Gagton, New Brunswick. The first order of business was to take Jewel for a walk and then have some dinner.
We didn’t stay out long because the bugs were biting and everything was wet, wet, wet. The good news – the clouds had cleared and the rain had stopped in New Brunswick. YEAH!! Ron told me not to get too excited so I had to calm down. LOL
Ron doesn’t usually drive 365 miles in one day so he was pretty tired. With no rest areas on a major highway and most exits without areas to accommodate a big rig it was tough not being able to pull over and stop for a few minutes. There were also a lot of exits with no re-entry onto the highway or signs to indicate either way. We were in bed by 10 PM and ready for sleep.
