Day 29 - Fundy Spray CG, Smith Cove, NS

on Tuesday, July 9, 2013

Ron woke this morning with the driving bug. He said he felt like driving for a long distance. Only problem - our next destination is only 49 miles away. LOL

We were up and out fairly early arriving at the CG around 10:30 AM. Standing at the entrance  was our acquaintances  Erwin and his wife Renetta.  We weren’t expecting to run into them again,  but there they were. Erwin had clipped and broke his driver side mirror coming through road construction in Saint John’s and was waiting to have it repaired.

We settled in, had lunch and Ron & Erwin had a lengthy conversation.  Later we took a ride into Digby to look around.

We walked around the park area along the pier. Then took a ride to the Point Prim Lighthouse.

The temperature had cooled considerably especially near the water. For a few moments we wished we had brought jackets.

Then we took a ride to a small town with its buildings on stilts.

Later we stopped for dinner at Captains Cabin, a restaurant famous for its’ Digby scallops.  The food was better then excellent but the waitress was a real grump. She was arguing with another server and looked like she would be happy to throttle him.

We went back to the MH and did some research on whale watches’. Tomorrow we will be making an attempt, weather permitting, to take a whale watch.
