Ron and I both slept great and were back on the road by 9:30 AM. The sun is shining and the skies are blue. YEAH!!!!!
We only had a two hour drive to the border and the gas was getting low but we were not going to pay $4.99 a gallon for gas if it could be avoided.
We arrived at the border around 11:30 AM and it was so backed up, it took 30 minutes to get through.
We came into the USA in Houlton, Maine at the beginning of I- 95
Once we got into Houlton and near the exit to the gas station the low fuel alarm went off. Of course there was still at least 10 gallons of gas in the MH but Ron decided we should stop so as not to get me in a twit about gas! LOL
The gas was $3.75 a gallon and since some guy told Ron it was 20 cents cheaper thirty miles down the road he didn’t fill the tank.!!!! That’s my Ron!
We decided we would spend a couple of days in Maine so stopped at a CG along the route. It was full to capacity but they recommended another CG a little off the beaten path. I called, (yes we have phone service now) and they had availability.
We were settled in to the PIne Grove CG in Medway, Maine by 1 PM ( Back on EST) and were happy to be back in the good old USA.
We took Jewel for her walk and stood by the river for a while. It is very peaceful and serene here. The people who own the CG are very nice and accommodating. It is a no frills woodsy CG, just what we like.
The sun was shining all day – just what we needed. We put up our 90 seconds to assemble screen house and sat out of most of the evening. It was warm and beautiful and we really enjoyed it.
We have been really lucky seeing some absolutely gorgeous sunsets. NO words required!
We plan on some scenic touring and a canoe ride tomorrow. The weather according to the forecast is for abundant sunshine!!!!! We’ll take it.
